EMDR Intensives

What are EMDR Intensives?

EMDR Intensives are conducted in consecutive hours of EMDR over the course of multiple days. Choosing this option allows you to process trauma experiences within a few days instead of over the course of months. I will help you decide if EMDR intensives are appropriate for you.

EMDR sessions were researched within a 90 minute format but due to insurance limitations, EMDR sessions are typically conducted within one hour sessions. It's common to feel an hour is not enough when processing trauma before having to end the session and wait until the following week to resume. Having more time to de-sensitize feelings / body sensations will achieve faster relief and lessen trigger responses.

What if I'm already seeing a therapist? I don't want to start over.

No problem! If you have been working with a therapist who is not trained in EMDR, you and/or your therapist can speak with me to see if EMDR would be a good fit. Once you complete your EMDR intensive sessions with me you would then return to your established therapist for ongoing care.

What are the benefits of EMDR Intensives?

  • Ideal for those that feel "stuck" with traditional talking therapy
  • Condense 3 - 6 months of weekly EMDR therapy
  • Achieve relief in a shorter time frame
  • Save time travelling to / from sessions to do things you enjoy
  • Lower the risk of dropping out of treatment too early
  • Lower the amount of time spent re-orienting after a one hour EMDR session
  • Ideal for busy professionals
  • Ideal for busy parents
  • Could save you money in the long run if engaging in months of talking therapy to process trauma

When are EMDR intensive available?

I offer EMDR intensives on Fridays in either a half-day or full-day schedule. Having intensives on Friday, at the end of your week, allows you to have the weekend to recuperate. Half-day Friday sessions are from 9am to 1pm with breaks after every hour. Full-day sessions are from 9am - 3pm with breaks and a 30 minute lunch. You can choose between 1-4 days of half or full day EMDR intensive sessions.

Are EMDR Intensives covered by insurance?

Unfortunately, insurance will not reimburse EMDR intensives because it consists of multiple hours of treatment and they consider outpatient mental health as once per week for one hour.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes! I offer financing. Treatment can start immediately once approved. See if you prequalify on the Care Credit banner below.

You can also choose to pay in full but a deposit of half the cost is due to schedule and the balance due prior to services starting.

***There are no guarantees of results with traditional talking therapy or EMDR sessions.***

You shouldn't have to compromise care because of cost. That's why we accept Care Credit with special financing options. Choose from:

1) No Interest if Paid in Full within the 6, 12, 18 or 24 Month Promotional Period or
